Baptisms at Wesley  Two baptisms were performed in the church on Sunday, November 21 during the worship service.  The celebrants were Brittany Nicole Witt and Noah James Earnesty.  Noah James is the son of Brittany Nicole Witt and Jeremy Nathaniel Earnesty. Noah is the great-grandson of Dick and Carol Witt.  A light refreshment was served following the service to recognize the honorees. 

 


Nagy to Perform for Mozart Club  
The Mozart Music Club continues its regular meetings on the first Monday of the month. The next regular meeting is Monday, December 6, 2021 in the Susanna Wesley Room of Wesley UM Church.  The meetings begin at 7:00 PM and will feature a business session followed by a scheduled entertainment.  The featured performer this month is soloist Sheryl Nagy. Light refreshments will be offered following the performance.  All members are encouraged to attend as well as all NEW persons who wish to join the club. Poinsettia Orders Due Now  Orders for Christmas Poinsettias may be placed by calling the church or completing an order form and returning to the church office.  The cost of each plant is $11.50 in the colors of red or pink.  The last date to order is December 5th!  If paying by check, please make it out to “Wesley UMC”.

Advent Bible Study Begins  It was announced that an Advent Bible Study will begin on Tuesday nights at 6:30 PM starting December 7th.  The theme will center around the movie classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”.  Please join our Bible Study each Tuesday evening for bible study and discussion.

 

Scottdale Band Concert  The Scottdale Community Band will present a Concert at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 14th beginning at 7:00 PM.  The concert is free and open to the public.  Come and enjoy an evening of seasonal selections to start your holiday celebration.  A good will offering will be accepted for the band.

 

New Railings Installed  New safety railings were recently installed at the altar of Wesley United Methodist Church to provide safety and security on the stairs leading to the altar. Thanks to Ken Metsger and Rod Haines for their work in the installation of the antique bronze aluminum railings. Come by the church soon and see what an improvement it has made to our sanctuary.

 

Holy Communion is celebrated on the First Sunday of every month during worship, unless announced otherwise. We are resuming an additional collection which will be asked for the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund to aid in special giving by the pastor.

Charge Conference Scheduled  A Charge Conference is scheduled for Monday, December 6th at 7:30 PM at Albright UMC.  Wesley is a member of the Connellsville Co-Op Parish and other churches in the parish are invited to attend.  All members of Wesley UMC are ENCOURAGED to attend this Charge Conference to hear reports for the coming year about Wesley.

Christmas Eve Candle Light Service   The traditional Christmas Eve Candle Light Service will be held on Friday night, December 24th beginning at 6:30 PM.  This is a communion service with special music and a candle lighting completing the service all in adhering to CDC guidelines of COVID-19 standards where possible. Come and celebrate the joy of Christmas with us!

 

Wesley Family Clothesline open on first Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Come and find great gently used clothing at cheap prices for children and adults. The Clothesline is once again offering clothing sales during the pandemic, but following the CDC guidelines. Please observe social distancing while visiting.

AA Meetings are held at Wesley every Monday at 6:30 PM. Contact the church if you are interested in attending, or just show up!
